ESPN Social Media
Design System
One of the largest parts of my role as a Senior Designer for ESPN is to create and maintain the ESPN Social Visual Brand and use that style to create templates for Social Media Editors, and other designers, to use.
These templates consist of concise information and text layouts, as there is a wide range in Photoshop and Design proficiency among our Editors.
I create the templates to have a cohesive “ESPN” feel, but adjust them to fit the sub-brand they are a part of. I also stick to simple color combinations (black, white, and one or two team colors) to make sure there is reliable ease of use and legibility.
These are all examples of templates “in the wild” – pulled straight from our feeds – after they have been created and posted by Social Media Editors.
